EXCERPT
What I did or said in class and what I put online have no effect on
the actual relationship between the two testaments; that exists outside
and independent of me and has done so for millennia. The animation can
convey that relationship to individuals I will never see or know.
Chapter
7 is about teaching. Certainly history has seen no more effective and
influential teacher than Jesus of Nazareth! Jesus often used material
things as models and objects of instruction. At the climax of his teaching,
He offered bread and wine as an eternal bond to Him and His divinity.
The movie on the following page uses simple objects to explain the relationship
between the two divisions of the Bible:
The
Old Testament
is the candle container and its candle within, developed over
time and tradition.
The
New Testament
is the flame.
The
relationship between the two testaments
is the relationship of the candle container and its candle to the flame.
That relationship can be witnessed in the movie after the match is applied.
